Ben loves live music and can often be seen at events around the Granite Belt such as Stanthorpe Little Theatre, the various community halls, and markets. He also writes a bit of poetry (just for fun) and enjoys sharing his poetry at the Open Mic nights at The Stanthorpe Little Theatre. He has two shows on Tuesdays & Wednesdays that offer an eclectic mix of old & new music and a strong focus on Australian independent musicians.
As Stanthorpe is the "last stop" for Ben & Cath it’s important to be able to contribute to our new community. Ben has therefore worked hard as a "new boy in town" to develop connections within the local community and enjoys getting community members in the studio for regular interviews and engaging with the community as much as possible. Ben reckons that moving to Stanthorpe was the best decision Cath and he could have made and he is very happy being one of the many volunteers that makes our community so good.

DJP

DJP

I am a mature male in his late 50s, who has had various employment and business ventures throughout my life. I very much enjoy the role of a volunteer radio announcer. My music taste is not limited to just one genre of music style/type, I enjoy listening to pop/rock/country rock/techno/latest artist's/classic/etc. However, my preferences lean towards the music styles of the 80s and 90s. Life endeavours involve participating in sporting activities, outdoor adventures, travel, and assisting those in need. I have gained various skills, management, administration, trades and services in undertakings of both education providers (University and TAFE) and throughout different work environments (Government and Private Sectors). I live in Stanthorpe

Erika

Erika

I have been doing radio since 2009 with Ten FM when I was in year 9 at Stanthorpe State High School. I like to play anything from rock and blues to pop.

I play guitar and have been learning since I was 15. More recently, I have been having keyboard lessons.

I enjoy karaoke and open mic nights at The Little Theatre.

When I have the opportunity to attend music festivals, I like to meet and interview artists. I can then share these interviews and music with the listeners of Ten FM. I also love going to see and listen to tribute bands/artists!

Jason David

Jason David

Being of Generation X, I grew up in the 80s and 90s and have a lot of interest in the music of that time. I view the 90s especially, as a time when musicians took all the great music that came before them and created something unique out of their collective influences.
I like to think of myself as a musician. Currently recording songs with Andy Wilmott of Soular Music Services. Andrew Johnson supplies the Bass Guitar parts. I also play quite frequently at the Stanthorpe Little Theatre Open Mic nights allowing me to keep my ear to the ground, so to speak, of what is happening with music locally. If a local musician asks me to play one of their songs, I am usually happy to oblige.

Josephine Stellino

Josephine Stellino

I am Italian, born in a musical family, and grew up with grandparents who played piano in Italy. I enjoy pop music, rock & roll, jazz, gospel music, and opera in the fields. I like all genres of music. My aim in Magic Moments & memories is to play sentimental songs and spin all the requests that our audience wants to hear. As Time Goes By is nostalgic & warms the Heart.

Maria

Maria

Maria Mastro has been a presenter with Ten FM for a number of years and presents her own take on Italian music for our Italian community

Marion Saxby

Marion Saxby

Marion has been a presenter on Ten FM since mid-way through 1989 when she moved to Tenterfield. Her time slot these days is Friday mornings from 9 to noon. For quite some time she focused on a mix of music with a leaning towards the 70s and then it became only the 70s. After some years the 70s seemed to be a long time ago so she started mixing all the decades again into her playlist. Marion has now come full circle. She mainly plays what you have heard on Top 40 charts - so generally music that is or was a hit on the charts. She has some keen listeners though who told her they miss the attention given to the 70s, so she now dedicates the first Friday of the month to only the 70s (which she considers to be her comfort zone) and the remaining Fridays are a mix from the 70s and on.
As part of the program committee, Marion trains new presenters which is always interesting. Every Friday that she’s on air she can't believe how fast the time goes. It seems that she just sits down and then she’s timing into the news. Yes, it’s definitely a case of "Friday on My Mind", every week.
